MOUNT VERNON— Brewton-Parker College’s weekly chapel service began Tuesday, March 13, with a time of heartfelt praise by husband and wife, Dr. Matthew Haley and Tyra Haley. The couple, both employees of the college, performed an original song, “Love of God,” as well as two other songs, “Met by Love,” and, “Everything and Nothing Less.”
Following this time, Executive Vice President and Director of Advancement, Ray Sullivan, began by sharing that he would be speaking on relationships. “You were created for relationships in the image of God,” stated Sullivan as he shared background on Joshua 22. Sullivan pointed out that, from the beginning of the Bible, Satan uses broken relationships to create chaos in the the lives of God’s people just as it occurs in the passage of scripture. Sullivan urged his listeners to be wary as they make accusations toward other believers. He also showed that the people in Joshua could have prevented trouble by talking to their fellow believers. Closing his message, Sullivan shared that if relationships are broken, Christians should, “Ask and seek reconciliation so that God can heal and mend.”
