MOUNT VERNON—During the week of June 12-16, youth from the surrounding area, ages 9-15, returned to Brewton-Parker’s campus for the second annual Science Camp. Once again, Dr. Helene Peters, BPC Associate Professor of Biology, directed the week, utilizing the help of BPC students who remained to work over the summer. From 9AM to 12PM each morning, the youth studied topics spanning from Magnetism and Newton’s laws to human anatomy and physiology.
For only $80, the week-long event is a great opportunity for young students to spend their summer having fun while engaging their minds. While BPC could focus its energy on college-aged students, it’s clear that with events like Science Camp, the college does not limit itself to the age of a curious mind—BPC offers a quality education to students of all ages.
Families that are interested in participating in the 2018 Science Camp are encouraged to contact Dr. Peters at (912) 583-3157 or hpeters@bpc.edu. Members of the community can also visit Facebook.com/BrewtonParker for more pictures and announcements pertaining to other campus events.
