MOUNT VERNON— Something sweet begins with the arrival of Brewton-Parker College’s 2017/2018 academic year, which began on August 14.
The start of the new year is an exciting time for students, faculty, and staff as classes are filled, athletic seasons begin, and new events happen each day. For some students, this is the time that they are reunited with old friends and a familiar campus.
Other students, like freshman Lydia Clements, meet new people daily as they explore what Brewton-Parker College has to offer in terms of academics, groups, and friendships. Clements shared her feelings about the new school year, “BPC has been a wonderful experience so far. I’ve met many new friends, from peers to professors, and I hope to make many more in the days ahead. This is a new and exciting time, but the fact I have new friends to share it with makes it that much better.”
Brewton-Parker College’s campus bustles with activity as students participate in events like the Golden Era of Gospel Music workshop, the annual community fair, auditions for competitive groups like Voices of Truth and the BPC Dance Team, and many more student activities.
Students aren’t the only ones excited about the new semester. Lynn Addison, Assistant Professor of Business, expressed what many faculty and staff feel when she commented, “I am excited to see students back on campus. It is always a pleasure to see familiar and new faces at the start of the fall semester. I wish everyone a productive and pleasant term!”
