On Monday, Sept. 25, the Brewton-Parker College Ministerial Association hosted the Lion’s Den in Gilder Recital Hall. This event allowed attendees to ask questions they had about Christianity or the Bible. The event panel including Dr. Billy Puckett, Dr. Jerry Ray, Austin Pounds, and Stephen Collins.
Students of various religious backgrounds were present at the event and, over a two-hour span, several questions the panel answered theological questions on topics like the tribulations, the role of women in the church, and the concept of gratuitous evil. Attedees could raise their hand to ask a question or send one in through text message if they were not comfortable with the first option. This was an effort to allow everyone equal opportunity to participate.
Collins, the president of the student-driven Ministerial Association, said, “The Lions Den was well attended by college and high school students. The questions were diverse an the discussions were thought provoking and informative. We are excited to be a part of what God is doing on the Brewton-Parker campus.”
