Brewton-Parker College focuses on practical application as well as characteristic excellence in all things. That’s why students in “CHR 300: Topics in Biblical Apologetics” traveled to New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary to participate in the “Defend 2018” Apologetics Conference. The trip provided students with new information about how to defend the Christian faith. “We were given the opportunity to learn about Christian Apologetics from professors and Christian scholars from around the nation,” stated student Jonathan Jenkins.
Student Nathen Pristavec said, “I learned arguments for the existence of God and how to use apologetics as a tool to win people for the kingdom of God.”
The CHR 300 students, led by Assistant Professor of Theology Dr. Billy Puckett, gained nearly 27 hours of in-seat class time from attending the conference. The trip spanned from January 7-12.
Some students had more than one reason to go on this trip. Jenkins used the trip as a way to look at a potential graduate school. He said, “I was also given the opportunity to tour the campus and to add NOBTS to my list of prospective seminaries for my graduate degree.”
They were able to bond as a group and enjoy the sights and foods that Louisiana has to offer. Student Elizabeth Matthews stated, “I enjoyed being able to get Po’ Boy sandwiches and Beignets.
