The front lawn of Brewton-Parker College was filled with brightly colored eggs and happy children as the college held its annual Community Eggstravaganza on Tuesday, March 13. Hosted by the Office of Alumni and Special Events, the event featured egg hunts, cookie decorating, and photos with the Easter Bunny. All children had the option of taking home a goodie bag alongside the other prizes they collected.
Children were separated into four different zones for the egg hunts to create a safe and fair experience for each child. Babies were able to search for eggs and treats in a kiddie pool filled with colorful paper while toddlers hunted in a nearby safe zone.
Ages three to five participated in a traditional hunt in a lollipop garden. They also picked giant lollipops to take home with them. Ages six to nine years old participated in a unique egg hunt where they had to do a specific action, such as hop like a bunny, for each egg they picked up.
Ages ten and up were invited to Brewton-Parker’s library where they enjoyed a scavenger hunt based around Scripture clues. Traditional Easter eggs filled with candy helped to obscure the scavenger hunt items. Those who finished first and went home with a giant chocolate bunny.
