MOUNT VERNON— This summer, two Brewton-Parker employees collaborated with the band, Many Sparrows, to record a benefit album for Love for the Least.
Love for the Least is a Christian organization whose mission is to “Share the Compassion of Christ with an Unreached World.” It offers services to East Africa and the Middle East for immediate relief and research into solutions for long-term relief. More information regarding this movement can be found on their website at www.lovefortheleast.org.
Dr. Matthew Haley, Assistant Professor of Music, and wife Tyra Haley, Director of Residence Life, worked with Many Sparrows for two weeks on the upcoming album, “From the Wilderness.” In the album, vocals from both husband and wife can be heard, as well as accompaniment from Dr. Haley on bass and trumpet and Mrs. Haley on piano and flute.

Mrs. Haley stated, “When we were approached to record on this project, I said ‘Yes!’ right away. With everything this ministry is doing—serving and loving people that lost everything in one of the most dangerous areas in the world—how could I not support that? I want to use my talents and gifts that the Lord has given me to serve and love His people. As a bonus, this album has amazing songs that worship the King of Kings!”

“We had a lot of fun recording on this. I’m really excited about how everything sounds and can’t wait to hear the final product,” Dr. Haley added. “The message is timely, and the cause is much needed.”
The album is expected to release this fall and proceeds will benefit Love for the Least and the refugees in Kurdistan. To learn more about the project and ministry, visit the Many Sparrows Kickstarter at https://kck.st/2Lix5DD.
