Brewton-Parker College’s weekly chapel service was somber Tuesday, Sept. 26 as students gathered for the first time after the tragic death of Stevenson Derival.
“God is more concerned with your heart than He is anything else in your life,” Billy Shiver, Head Pastor of Connection Church in Vidalia, shared.
Brewton-Parker College had a special “Get Connected” chapel service Tuesday, September 5. Representatives from local churches spoke short pitches to students encouraging them to visit local churches so that they could have a church to belong in while away at school.
After reading Luke 11:1, Morton said, “Maybe if we stopped doing everything else and do the one thing that matters first, which is prayer, everything else will fit where it’s supposed to fit.” Morton went on to talk about his prayer life and the way he makes time to pray consistently. He concluded the message by explaining, “You can hear a sermon and be inspired for a little bit, or you can learn to pray and be inspired for a lifetime.”
