Our Bachelor of Music in Worship Studies degree is designed for individuals like you who wish to study music as part of a career in church music, in both a traditional and contemporary settings. We will prepare you to be a leader in worship and to teach musical skills to the next generation.
With professors who become mentors and personal coaches through one-on-one interaction, you will find support for whatever career goal you have in mind. Your classes will range from music theory to direct application with so many opportunities to perform live and gain the on-stage experience you need. With end of year concerts and senior recitals, we’re taking music from theory to real world application.
By the time you earn your Bachelor of Music in Worship Studies, you will be able to:
- Develop the following performance skills for applied and secondary instruments: Tone quality, Intonation/Pitch Accuracy, rhythm tempo, balance/blend, technique, musicality, and performance factors.
- Be able to demonstrate skills in sight-reading through a variety of musical styles.
- Be able to demonstrate a proficiency in knowledge and function of music theory through analysis, arranging and orchestration.
- Demonstrate an ability to think, speak, and write proficiently about music and worship related topics.
