Your safety is our priority!
The safety and security of our students, faculty, staff, and guests is our number one priority. Our goal is to provide a safe living and learning environment.
Located in the Newton Building, BPC Security is responsible for enforcing applicable federal, state and local laws, as well as the college’s policies and regulations. All criminal offenses occurring on campus or at a college event should be reported to Campus Security. The campus is patrolled by officers who are on foot, in vehicles and golf carts.
Campus Security is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Security and Access to Campus Facilities
Brewton-Parker College affords an open campus where students, faculty and staff are free to move about at will. As an open campus, guests are welcome. Campus facilities are for the use of BPC students, faculty and staff. Visitors may reserve the use of facilities through the President’s office.
Because we have an open campus, we ask all students, faculty and staff members to report any strange or suspicious activities to security personnel, the student life office, residence hall staff or, if necessary, to the local police department.

Parking Information
All faculty, staff, and students that drive a vehicle on campus, must have a parking decal. Just click the link below and fill out the form. When you have submitted the form, come by the security office in Newton Building and pick up your decal. Please read the student handbook for traffic rules. If you receive a traffic ticket, lease come by the security office and talk to the director of security.
Rules for Personal Safety

Lock & Double-Check the door.
Always lock and double-check the door when you leave your room. Never loan out your keys. Promptly report lost keys to your RA.

Write Down Serial Numbers
Record the serial numbers of expensive possessions. Put a secret mark on them for positive identification incase the serial number gets removed.

Keep Money Safe
Don't leave money in your room that you can't afford to lose. We suggest you open a bank account instead.
4.
Stay Alert
Stay alert and be aware of your surroundings. When walking across campus at night, use the buddy system.
5.
Be Responsible
Don't depend on others to look after your belongings. Never leave your things unattended in public areas.

Emergency Preparedness Plan
BPC has a plan in place to mitigate major emergencies and disasters affecting campus.
Campus Lock-Up Procedure
Security personnel secure and lock all buildings at various times when buildings are not in use or at curfew and lock-up times established by the Office of Student Development. After buildings are secured for the night, security personnel conduct routine door checks of all campus facilities, including residence halls. Regular patrols are made around and in buildings and around campus during the night.
Emergency Alert System
All faculty, staff, and students are automatically enrolled in our emergency alert system. Brewton-Parker College will issue an emergency notification to all faculty, staff, and students upon confirmation of any significant emergency or dangerous situation occurring on campus that may involve an immediate threat to the health or safety of students or employees.
