Management
Overview
A minor in Management explores the theory and practice of organizational development, project evaluation, communications, business leadership and human resource planning to equip students with the basic skills needed to thrive in a management role. Students will also be required to take multiple business courses to prepare them to practice management techniques in a business environment.

Required Courses
Choose 3 of the following:
BUS 350 Topics in Business   Credit Hours: 3
This course is a study of selected topics in business and may be taken twice toward graduation
credit.
MGT 377 Project Management  Credit Hours: 3
This course examines how technologies, project management tools, and modern techniques are
applied. Topics include the triple constraint of project management (time, cost, scope), the project
life cycle, project selection, project evaluation, work breakdown structure, and critical path.
Prerequisite: BUS 101
MGT 341 Business Leadership  Credit Hours: 3
This course is designed to introduce leadership theory and practice from a private perspective.
Students will study the complexities of business leadership. The various leadership styles will be
examined from a Christian and ethical perspective.
Prerequisite: MGT 331
MGT 333 Human Resources Management  Credit Hours: 3
This course includes the principles and procedures for human resource planning and management,
compensation and benefits, employee motivation and discipline, and safety and health
requirements.
Prerequisite: BUS 100
MGT 435 Entrepreneurship  Credit Hours: 3
This course is a study of the procedures and requirements for initiating and managing a new
business venture.
Prerequisite: BUS 331
You may choose any 3 BUS courses. Must complete 9 credit hours total to satisfy the electives requirement.Â
