CRIMINAL JUSTICE

Overview

The Criminal Justice program at Brewton-Parker College provides a broad overview of the criminal justice system engaging a broad range of complex cutting-edge law enforcement issues with a foundation of Biblical principles. Both the Associate and Bachelor Degrees of Criminal Justice will prepare students for specialized careers involving the discipline. The degrees will include insights from an array of cognate disciplines providing a broad overview of the criminal justice system, including legislation, law enforcement, courts, corrections, national security, and terrorism.

The mission of this degree program is to provide students with a strong education in criminal justice theory and practice. These elements enable BPC students to master the disciplinary knowledge and apply that knowledge in professional law enforcement contexts. These two degrees are designed to build upon each other and to produce graduates who have a passion for public service in the context of a Biblical Worldview. Graduates will be exceptionally prepared for careers in law enforcement, public safety, legal investigations, legal assistance, internet security, juvenile justice, compliance and national security. They will be foundationally prepared and academically equipped to meet the challenges of contemporary domestic and global criminal justice issues and apply their knowledge to principle and practice in all areas of careers in local, state, and federal criminal justice systems.
