Brewton-Parker Students Assist Florida Hurricane Recovery

Eight Brewton-Parker students and Dr. Billy Puckett, Director of Community and Church Relations, went on a mission trip October 18-21 to Middleburg, FL to serve those affected by Hurricane Irma. “We were trying to follow the example of Christ, who left behind his status and comfort to go to those in need,” commented Puckett.

In Colossians 3:14, Paul encourages Christians to live a life that is marked by “heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience” (HCSB). Christian volunteers from the Montgomery County and Toombs County area lived out this verse as they worked together to minister to Hurricane Irma refugees.

How Summer Missions Impacted the Life of a Brewton-Parker Student

Paige Norton hoped to go on her first mission trip during her summer break, but God had a lot more in store for the senior Christian Studies major from Brewton-Parker College. After her original mission trip was cancelled, Norton’s professor recommended her to be the female summer missionary for Georgia’s Houston Baptist Association.
